Description
The 92-bed Thunderbird Treatment Center on Vashon Island expands King County’s inpatient bed capacity for substance use disorder by 51%. Developed by Seattle Indian Health Board, the 40,347 SF facility integrates behavioral health treatment, traditional Indigenous healing practices, medical support, recreation, and connection to nature. Rooted in cultural identity and designed to foster dignity, comfort, and belonging, Thunderbird provides a restorative environment where patients can strengthen the foundations for lasting recovery and wellness.
